Philippine EV Summit Shows Positive Developments, Predicts 6.6 million EVs On The Road By 2030
Over 6 million electric vehicles will ply the streets of the Philippines by 2030, if the forecast of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines becomes reality. The 11th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS) has seen positive developments, predicting that there will be 6.6 million EVs on the road by 2030. The event featured vehicles from Beijing Automobile Works (BAW), BYD, Chery, DongFeng, Geely, Great Wall Motors (GWM), Hyundai, Jetour, Kia, Lotus, Nissan, and SAIC-MG. Approximately 60 percent of all-electric vehicles in the Philippines are currently two-wheeled vehicles. Hyundai Motor Philippines (HMPH) showcased its two all-Electric models, the IONIQ 5 and ION IQ 6, which were hailed as World Cars of the Year. Jetour also showcased the Ice Cream EV, a new electric microcar with a range of up to 200 km on a single charge.
